Shopping Tools: ShopStyle.com
If you’ve been on my site before, you know that I use ShopStyle.com quite a bit to showcase sales and awesome deals. ShopStyle is a killer shopping tool and is a site that should be in your bookmarks if you’re a serious bargain hunter. They utilize a system that many shopping sites are starting to use, including Amazon.com and Endless.com. Basically, the system lets you categorize what you’re looking for, including sale items, even letting you specify the % off you’d like to look at (i.e., only look at products that are 70% off or more). You can also narrow products down to color, designer, store and size. This becomes extremely useful because ShopStyle has products from TONS of designers and stores. You can register (for free, of course) and create your own profile, then browse your little heart out and add your fave products to your “stylebook.” From your stylebook you can create various looks and groupings. Looking at the looks other users have created is pretty interesting, as some are using the tool more as a form of art than a way to shop. You can also sign up for sale alerts, where you’ll be e-mailed every time your favorite designers and/or stores put stuff on sale. It’s an awesome tool and I use it all the time.
If you’re a blogger, ShopStyle offers great tools and widgets to incorporate your finds into your blog (like I always do). All in all, a great site. Amazon.com also utilizes the same type of browsing system, but they don’t really offer the same tools and widgets as ShopStyle and is nowhere near as aesthetically pleasing.
